The choice of platform
A fast, easy-to-use platform that I already know
After taking care of the initial parts of the project creation process, I chose to implement the project on the Prestashop platform. The choice fell on this platform for several reasons, which can be summarised as:
Usability. Speed. Familiarity.
Usability.
Given the volume of products and the need to better manage the categorisation of products on the backend side.
Speed.
The site had to be fast in performance and during navigation.
Familiarity.
The customer was already familiar with the platform and immediately became autonomous in managing the warehouse and orders.
Simple homepage with product search engine.
The module used allows you to do a two-step search for the right tow bar model for your car.
Details for those who do not know which product to buy.
Not everyone knows which product to buy, just like our François.
Therefore, product previews were created with the following details:
– Vehicle name
– Year of production and end of production of the vehicle
– Version of the vehicle model
– Type of hitch
Technical information available everywhere.
The user is always able to consult information on the assembly and disassembly of the hook as well as technical information. The operating instructions are available in pdf format or, for some models, via videos and infographics.
